Met Shri Jean-Louis Billon, the Minister of Cote d’Ivoire

Sri Kalraj Mishra, Minister (MSME) Govt. of India met Shri Jean-Louis Billon, the Minister for Trade, Handicrafts & SMEs of Cote d’Ivoire [CI] and congratulated him for the successful implementation and monitoring of government policy on Commerce, Handicrafts and promotion of SMEs in line with the Foreign Policy of Cote d’Ivoire which is focused primarily on economic diplomacy after the 2010-11 post electoral situation in the country.
Shri Mishra wished all success for the promotion and development of SMEs in Cote d’Ivoire (CI) and particularly for the introduction of “Phoenix Programme” and also complimented the Government of CI for their tireless effort in bringing peace and economic stability in CI, after a decade of political instability, in a record time leading to its return of fold into African Development Bank. Shri Mishra conveyed that more frequent institutional visits would go a long way in developing bilateral and mutual relations between both the countries. This would improve the growth of bilateral trade between the two countries.
Shri Mishra gave him an overview of SMEs in India and wished to formulate strategic plan with mutual coordination and as to how both the countries could be benefited in SMEs sector.
On this occasion Shri Mishra discussed with the officers of the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and Ministry for Trade, Handicrafts & SMEs of Cote d’Ivoire and assured that India would be happy to favourably consider the requests of CI for assistance in SMEs sector for its promotion and development.
