Chaired a meeting with MSME & Samsung Officials

Shri Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) chaired a meeting with the Mr. Hyun Chil Hong, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia at Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi on 14.01.2015 to discuss about ongoing joint program at MSME-Samsung Technical School across the country.
Shri Madhav Lal, Secretary, MSME, Mr. Hyun Woo Bang, Senior Vice President, Samsung South West Asia, Mr. SD Do, Head Customer Satisfaction, Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, Vice President, Samsung South West Asia and other senior officers of the Ministry were also present on the occasion.
MSME-Samsung Technical School has been set up following an MOU signed between the Ministry of MSME, Government of India and Samsung Electronics. The MOU aims to establish Ten “MSME–Samsung Technical Schools” at MSME Technology Centers for conducting joint training programs at various parts of the country.
This is one of the possible models under which the training imparted to youth, increases to a great extent the possibility of their subsequent employment as well as motivates them to establish their own enterprises. It is a great opportunity not only for the youth of India across the country. It shall provide students trade-specific training on repair and troubleshooting for consumer electronics products such as mobile phones, televisions, home theatres and home appliances. Additionally students will also be educated in soft skills that will further enable them to provide exemplary customer service.
Hon’ble Minister emphasize that, the MSME Sector employs maximum number of people in India next to agriculture. He stated that to meet skilled manpower requirement in the sector, the ministry of MSME is committed towards creating industry responsive manpower by giving thrust on EMPLOYABLE SKILLS and VOCATIONAL TRAINING in partnership with the Industry.

He hoped that this joint initiative of Ministry of MSME and Samsung in line with the Government’s vision of ‘Make In India‘ would be able to train thousands of youth per year. According to the Hon’ble Minister, this programme would provide trainees an opportunity to find placements in various appliances manufacturing organizations including Samsung. He opined that many of them would also be in a position to establish their own enterprises and Service Centres for repair & maintenance of electrical & electronics goods.
